The title is just a bit of what the kids call "rage-baiting". I did finally finish the Amazing Digital Circus (Lauren M. made me watch the pilot years ago and I stopped then). My thoughts... meh. Similar to when I finished listening to Epic... meh. (There's only one song that I really liked from that soundtrack - Warrior of the Mind)
Quick roundup of my thoughts (probably spoilers):
- Caine reminds me a whole lot of the host in Mario Party 8. He has a sentient hat sidekick.

| Apparently his name is MC Ballyhoo |
- Favorite character: Ragatha. Even though she is going through the same hell as the rest of them, she goes out of her way to try to make sure that everyone is doing okay.
- Least favorite: Jax - He is made more sympathetic by the end, but still is not a good person. Sure, we all have our own demons, but he makes it worse for everyone.
- Favorite episode: Fast Food Masquerade. Gangle got a brief taste of happiness.
- I do like redemption arcs, so I appreciate what happened with Caine at the end.
- Lots of room for fan fiction continuation:
- When/how did each character get pulled in?
- Can abstractions ever be fully healed?
- Computers work much faster, so how much time has actually passed in the real world?
There's a lot to like. So, why do I only find it meh? I think it's that I prefer media that allows me to escape. This hits too close to home (I think for most of us):
- Powerful AI takeover
- Getting sucked in by technology that was supposed to be a fun diversion
- Dealing with depression, anxiety, despair, feelings of worthlessness
It ends with an uplifting message: be there for others. Too many shows would be content just saying that there was no point to anything.
